Author and IllustratorI have illustrated many books for children, including the award-winning Song of Pentecost by W.J. Corbett, books by Roald Dahl, Terry Jones, Marina Warner, Ted Hughes, Dick-King Smith and recently J.K. Rowling. I was also a regular illustrator for the children's TV programme Jackanory and my own story Hairy Hairy was televised by the BBC. For 10 years, I was a lecturer at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. I am now a senior lecturer in illustration at Middlesex University and also a visiting lecturer at Kingston University's prestigious illustration Department and am a frequent visiting illustrator for the National Federation of Children's Books and South East Arts. Some of my work has even been auctioned at Christie's! For b small, I really enjoyed illustrating all the titles in the Gruesome Series. In my spare time, I'm also a keen gardener and so produced the illustrations for Lone Morton's Grow Organic, Eat Organic - a brilliant book which has changed how I garden. My wife Anne and I are cat lovers and as such I also had a great time illustrating the Cats title in the Animal Activity Series as well as the Dogs and Horses titles. I love illustrating so much that I thought it would be great to share this with young readers. For b small, I have written and illustrated a You Can Draw series hoping to inspire lots of future illustrators! Here is a link to my website.
